William Mack Broadwater Jr., 70 , of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024. A master carpenter by trade, William took great pride in his work and dedicated much of his life to his craft. He was known for his hardworking nature, always staying busy and lending his hands to build, fix, and create. His commitment to excellence in everything he did was a reflection of his passion for his trade.
William was not only a builder of things, but he also built strong bonds with the people and animals he encountered throughout his life. He had a deep love for animals and found joy in caring for them, always showing kindness and compassion to the creatures who crossed his path.
Those who knew William will remember his great sense of humor. Even in difficult times, he had a gift for bringing laughter to those around him, finding light in the darkest moments. Though he faced challenges, William was a man of resilience who never gave up. He always found a way to move forward, showing strength and determination through every season of life.
William is survived by his daughter, Carissa Broadwater; his sister, Barbara Hightower; his brothers, Carl Whiddon and Melvin Broadwater; his niece, Stacey Broadwater; his nephews, Kevin Hightower and Zachary Broadwater; several cousins and extended family. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his humor, his work ethic, and his tender spirit.
A private service will be held for the family at a later date.
