Wendy Alison "Winnie Pooh" Gray, age 37, a resident of Columbia died Monday, April 20, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Grace Church of the Nazarene, 2302 Highland Ave., Columbia, with Gene Shelton officiating. Burial will be Friday, April 24, 2015 at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Grace Church of the Nazarene.
Our "Winnie Pooh," a native of Columbia, TN was born June 4, 1977 to Eddie and Peggy Gray with beautiful blue eyes with a smile that charmed all who saw it. She was a bright light in our lives, enthusiastic in all she did. She enjoyed outdoors, music, fashion, horseback riding, road trips, swimming, camping, skating, and church camp. She loved and immersed herself in the joy of life, adored by all who met or knew her. She started her education in Highland Park Elementary, Whitthorne Middle School, Culleok School, and Heritage Christian Academy. The joy of Wendy's existence began with the journey of motherhood. Wendy and Jamie welcomed a daughter, Makalyee Arion Jean Catlett in October 2001. There was no greater love than her daughter Makalyee.
Wendy is survived by a daughter of Columbia, Makalyee Arion Jean Catlett; father, Eddie Fletcher Gray of Columbia; mother, Peggy Jean Gray (Larry) Jacobs of Columbia; sisters, Christie Dawn (John) Kennedy of Mt. Juliet, Leslie K. Hanson, Michelle (Danny) Benson, Gina (Ed) Barksdale, Sarah Gray. and Enday (Tony) Foushee of Smyrna; brothers, James Kevin Hanson of Murfreesboro, and John Kevin (Charmante) Isabell of Columbia; many nieces and nephews; and two beloved great nephews, Joshua Carter (Tink Tink) Young; and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert & Mabel Jones and Fletcher & Sarah Gray.
