Vincent Issac Perez Sr, age 56, of Franklin TN, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday April 20, 2023. Mr. Perez was born January 9, 1967 along with his twin brother, Victor John Perez, in Omaha, Nebraska to Louis G. Perez and Delia Delgado Perez.
He graduated from Bellevue College, in Nebraska and joined the Omaha Police Force where he served with distinction until he left 9 years later to enter George Mason School of Law. After graduating he joined the former Law firm of Locke Reynolds LLP, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Mr. Perez was a boxer, having won the Golden Gloves Boxing Title twice in his law enforcement career. In 2006, he co-founded the first Rock Steady Boxing, a non-profit organization in Indianapolis along with an attorney friend, Scott Newman, who has Parkinson’s Disease. The idea grew out of Vince’s desire to help his friend get moving using boxing techniques. It worked so well, they decided to do the same thing for other Parkinson’s patients, to attain their best level of functioning, and Rock Steady Boxing, is now all over the world in 450 different programs.
Mr. Perez, Founder/President of VIP Forensics, invented a DNA and biometric collection device to be used in crime scene investigations, human trafficking prevention, and more. He was always looking for ways to make the world a better place according to those who knew him well.
He was appointed to the Marion County Election Board in Indianapolis in 2015.
He was known for his great sense of humor and wit, which he shared in common with his twin, his entertaining gift of sharing inspiring and humorous stories, and his avid love of the Nebraska Huskers, traveling to see his team many times over the years. He was also a talented basketball player and golfer.
Mr. Perez was preceded in death by his father Louis G. Perez and his twin brother Victor John Perez. He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly Kaleen Perez; his daughters, Gabrielle Ariane Perez (Ryan Clark) of Noblesville, Indiana; and Collette Vincenta Perez of Fishers, Indiana; his son, Vincent Isaac Perez Jr. of Franklin, TN; stepson, Raymond Anthony (Valerie) of Bali, Indonesia; stepdaughter, Kayla Chantal of Johnson City, TN; mother Delia Delgado Perez of Bellevue, Nebraska; brother, David Perez (Debra) of Papillion, Nebraska; sisters, Angielynn Garfield, of Bellevue, Nebraska; Dina Tippery, of Phoenix, Arizona; and Constance Burke (Jim) of Bellevue, Nebraska; a host of nieces and nephews; and his devoted rescue dogs, Rexy Burkhead Perez, and Brady Perez.
He was a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, where his memorial service will be held, at 136 3 rd Avenue South in Franklin, TN on Sunday April 30 at 4 pm with visitation to begin an hour prior.
