Ursula M. Giese

June 19, 1938 - June 29, 2017

Ursula Marianne Giese passed away on June 29, 2017 at the age of 79. She was born on June 19, 1938 in Norkitten, Prussia (Germany) to Heinz and Helen Von Kaenel.

Ursula is survived by her husband of 61 years Horst Giese, son Ralph Giese (wife Stacy Anne Hatcher) and daughter Michelle Giese. Grandchildren Jeremy Nofs (wife Kristy Nofs), Jeffrey Nofs, Heather Boldizsar (husband William Boldizsar III), Nathan Giese and Matthew Giese. Ursula is also survived by great grandchildren: Allie, Luke, (Kailey of Kristy Nofs), Ryan, Claire and Drew.

She was the owner of Ursula's Hairstyles in Fort Gratiot, Michigan for several years. She was also known for her creative side with her talents ranging from oil painting to sculptures. Her hobbies were knitting and sewing. She frequently invited her large group of German immigrant friends to her home for meals, classical music, German songs and good old German cheer.

She has always been generous to a fault, caring for all and considerate. Her opinions were strong but would coincide with her values. Ursula's death came after a courageous battle with ALS but transitioned to heaven with dignity at home in Franklin, Tennessee. At her side was her husband Horst, daughter Michelle and Grand Daughter Heather holding her till her last breath.

There will be a "Celebration of Life" forthcoming in Port Huron, Michigan after arrangements have logistically been made.
