Terry Lee Bates of Manchester, Tennessee

September 14, 1953 - December 15, 2022

Terry was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on September 14, 1953. He passed away at home of Multiple Myeloma.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lou Johnson; his father, Hubert Lee Goldsmith; and his dad, George Alvin Bates, Sr.

Terry is survived by his wife, Kathleen H. Bates; his daughter Dahn Schrader (Jim); son, Adam Bates; daughter, Ashley Carr (Travis); step-daughter, Kristin M. Fabri; and step-son, Curtis H. Dodson; as well as many grandchildren, siblings and other relatives.

Terry enjoyed fishing, and was known as the “King of the bonfire” and “ Master of the Grill.”

Terry’s cremains will be interred at the Nashville Veterans Cemetery. He had served in the U.S. Army as military policeman during Vietnam War era.
