Sylvia Marie Cannon of Nashville, Tennessee

February 5, 1945 - October 19, 2020

Mrs. Sylvia Marie White Cannon was born on February 5, 1945 to the late Myra S. White and Z.O. White in Nashville, TN. She departed this earthly life on October 19, 2020.

Sylvia White Cannon and Thomas Albert Cannon, Sr. were married for forty-two years prior to his passing. This union was blessed with four children; sons Thomas Cannon, Jr., twin sons, Victor Cannon and Vanoy (Kimonique) Cannon; daughter, Dr. Kahala Cannon.

Mrs. Cannon graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Nashville, TN. She completed one year of training at Tennessee Technical College. She was a devoted family manager.  When her four children became older, she started an alteration business which served a diverse clientele which included individual clients, dry cleaners, and department stores.

Sylvia accepted Christ at 29 years old. She truly loved the Lord and let her light shine wherever she went.  She was always known to say, “Hey, I never meet a stranger.”  She was beloved by everyone due to her outgoing personality and wit.  Friends, neighbors, and acquaintances often commented that she was one of the sweetest persons that they had ever met and was an inspiration to them.

Sylvia was preceded in death by husband, Thomas Albert Cannon, Sr., parents Myra S. White and Z. O. White; brothers Willam White, Sr.; Marion White; George Porter White; Johnny White; and sister Anna Bell Williams.

Those remaining to cherish her memories are sons, Thomas Cannon, Jr., Victor Cannon, and Vanoy (Kimonique) Cannon; daughter, Dr. Kahala Cannon; brother, Benjamin (Annette) White; grandchildren, Andre Cannon, Indiya Cannon, Nevaeh Conner, and A’vionna Sullivan; devoted cousin Mechelle Davis, and a host of relatives and friends.
