Sue (Church) Peat, age 81, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 in Brentwood, TN. She was born April 20, 1937 in Akron, OH, daughter to the late Coy and Treeva (Dickerhoof) Church.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, her spouse of 53 years, Robert (Bob) Peat, and her brother, Melvin Ernest Church. She is survived by her sister-in-laws, Mary Peat of Dahlonega, GA and Alberta Prall of Meadville, PA and several nieces and nephews.
Sue worked for the US Postal Service in Akron, OH. She and her loving husband, Bob, retired in Northern California near Palo Cedro where they enjoyed RVing, traveling, and hiking. They moved to Brentwood, TN to live closer to family in January 2015. Sue can be remembered for her kind smile and her warm, welcoming ways and her green thumb, artistic eye, and love of animals. Sue was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend. Her twinkling blue eyes and hardy laugh made her irresistible to everyone who knew her and to those who had the honor to meet her even if just briefly.
A rotunda chapel servicel will be held at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN on July 11th at 10 am where her body will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bob. Family and friends are all welcomed to celebrate her beautiful life. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Nashville Alzheimer's Association would be most kind.
