April 29, 1952 - November 24, 2020

Scott, age 68, passed away November 24 th at his home surrounded by his loving family, after an 18-month battle with cancer. He was born on April 29, 1952 to Joann and Jim Torrence in Newton, Iowa. Scott called Franklin, TN home since moving here from Illinois with his family in 1988.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Daniel Torrence.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gail (Simonsen) Torrence, their daughters Sarah Torrence Rink (Matt Rink) and Katherine Torrence Fiorianti (Robert Fiorianti); siblings Greg Torrence, Marie Covalsky, and Martha Torrence.

Scott was a dedicated member of Franklin First United Methodist Church and was on the Board of Directors for the Peterson Foundation for Parkinson’s. He was an avid golfer and Nashville Predators fan. He loved traveling and spending time with his family. His career was spent in the trucking industry and was a member of the Tennessee Trucking Association. Scott made friends wherever he went and had a positive impact on the lives of many.

A private Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held at Franklin First United Methodist Church on December 20 th at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Dr. Bryan Brooks and Rev. Dr. Vona Wilson officiating. Livestream will be available on the church’s Facebook page.

Memorial donations may be made to the Franklin First United Methodist Church Memorial Garden (franklinfumc.org/care/memorial-garden-columbarium) or the Peterson Foundation for Parkinson’s (petersonforparkinsons.org/).
