Ruth Ann Buffey

March 10, 1951 - September 16, 2017

Ruth Ann Rosbury Buffey, Age 66, a resident of Columbia, TN previously of Davison, MI. Passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 2:30 pm at St. Catherine's Catholic Church 3019 Cayce Lane, Columbia, TN.
Born on March 10, 1951 in Cass City Michigan, she attended Holy Redeemer Catholic High School. On November 18, 1967 she married the love of her life Gregory A Buffey; together they shared 50 years of marriage. Ruth taught catechism classes for fifth - eighth grade under the Diocese of Lansing, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton, MI for 22 years. She was especially proud of her work with the GCCARD Head Start and Respite Care through MCI. She had a passion for God, music, children, and family.
In addition to her husband, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her sisters: Linda (David) Kelley of Swartz Creek, Janice (Mitch) Mitchell of McCool, MS, her natural children: Gale Buffey of Otter Lake, MI, Laura Buffey of Columbia, TN, Gregory (Karrie) Buffey II of Burton, MI, and Pamela (William) Edwards of Columbia, TN. Grandchildren, Jesse (Jessica) Rancour, Janel Russell, Nikki Rancour, Brandon Buffey, Aaron Burch, Andrew Buffey, and Paige Edwards. She also had adopted children and grandchildren Kelley Turner of Clio, MI, Joseph Hernandez of Flint, MI, Anthony (Jennifer) Burrows of Asheville, NC. Brandon VanOver, Chris VanOver, Matthew (Jordyn) VanOver, Kody Burrows, Joseph Hernandez II, Sapaya Hernandez, Rae-Ahana Hernandez, Great-Grandchildren Emily and Michael Sullivan and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Joyce (Hubel) Rosbury, and her brother Dennis Rosbury.
