Robert Paul Nordaas

January 21, 1954 - February 2, 2019

Robert (Bob) Paul Nordaas, age 65 of Franklin, TN and formerly of Albert Lea, MN passed away on Saturday February 2, 2019 at his home of natural causes related to coronary artery disease.
Bob was born in Blue Earth, MN on January 21, 1954 to Phyllis (Alne) and Haakon Nordaas. Bob graduated from Albert Lea Senior High School in 1972. He graduated from Austin Junior College with an AA degree in 1975 and then went on to graduate from Mankato State College in 1977 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He married Mona Kleven on June 29, 1975 and to this union they had five wonderful children. They later divorced, but remained close throughout the years.
Bob worked for Nordaas American Homes, owned by his father and mostly worked in sales traveling as far as Montana. He later worked for All American Homes as a Regional Sales Manager with an eventual transfer to TN.
Bob had many interests and hobbies. He loved to make things with his hands, was a master craftsman, and loved working on his "projects". He enjoyed playing golf, playing virtual reality games with his grandkids, watching movies, attending rock concerts, discussing politics and conspiracy theories. He enjoyed chatting online with people from other countries and long phone conversations with his kids. Bob had taken up cooking. He went from not being able to boil water, to learning how to use ingredients to make his own creations that were delicious. He enjoyed his music and loved taking drives especially the ones to MN and IA to visit his kids and their families. The one thing he hated more than anything was shopping unless of course it was a quick trip to Lowe's to look at the tool selection.
Bob is survived by his 5 adult children, Jessica (Jeff) King of Mason City IA, Robby Nordaas of Albert Lea MN, Andy Nordaas of Owatonna MN, Ashley (Kristy) Nordaas of Owatonna MN and Tara (Chris) Nordaas of Owatonna MN. His grandchildren, Nathan Hershey (Brittany), Cody, Jayden and Shaya King of Mason City IA , Autumn (Shawn) Anderson of Albert Lea MN, Naolin Nordaas of Burnsville MN, Jasmine, Jewel and Bella Nordaas of Owatonna MN and Tristan and Adam Faber of Owatonna MN and one great grandchild Jayce Huston of Albert Lea MN. He is also survived by the mother of his children Mona Nordaas of Owatonna MN, long time special friend Linda Patrick and her family of Franklin TN, his sister Linda Carr and brothers Perry and Alan Nordaas and several Nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Haakon Nordaas and Phyllis Nordaas and several aunts and uncles. His favorite dog "Snowdog" also preceded him.
There will be a private memorial service at a later date, with burial of his ashes at First Lutheran Cemetery by Glenville, MN.
His quiet demeanor, love for his family and great sense of humor will be missed.
