Richard Wayne Sweatman of Hendersonville, Tennessee

March 27, 1954 - July 10, 2020

Richard Wayne Sweatman, age 66, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.  He was born on March 27, 1954, in Smithville, Tennessee, the son of the late Richard Augustus and JoDean Puckett Sweatman.

Richard was a retired superintendent from Hardaway Construction Company.  Of all the projects that he oversaw construction of, he was especially proud of the Bicentennial Mall in Nashville.

Richard brought fun and laughter wherever he went.  He loved children.  He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Titans and Vanderbilt, and he enjoyed the outdoors.  He was exceptionally generous to his family, friends, and community.

He is survived by a son, Adam Sweatman; a sister, Kim Sweatman; two brothers, Jim (Jo Anne) Sweatman and Tim (Maria) Sweatman; a nephew, Jeffrey Smith; a niece, Stephanie (Brack) Gregory; a great-nephew, Leo Smith; and a great-niece, Emmy Gregory.

A private celebration of life service will be held at a time to be determined.  The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army Magnus Potter Community Center, c/o Nashville Area Command, 631 Dickerson Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37207.
