Patrick Michael Sweeney

December 10, 1974 - August 30, 2023

Patrick was born on December 10, 1974, in Nashville, TN.  He entered Heaven on August 30, 2023, at the age of 48.  He was an adventuresome and fun-loving son.

Patrick loved his family and was especially close to his dad, Michael Stephen Sweeney.  He made jewelry and other art featuring butterflies for his mom, Linda Herrell Sweeney.  Patrick loved his little sister, Shannon Lee Sweeney.  He always wanted to protect her.  And, of course, being her brother, he delighted in teasing her.

Shannon married Cory James Call in 2005.  Patrick enjoyed getting to know Cory.  They often talked about their shared interests of music, movies, and sports.  When Britton and Sadie came along, Patrick was excited and eager to hold them as babies as well as rough house and tease them as they got older.

Patrick loved all his grandparents and his aunts, uncles, and many cousins.  He enjoyed family times and celebrations of birthdays and holidays.

Patrick was most at home outdoors.  He did a variety of outside jobs including hydroseeding, lawn care, landscaping, and handy man work.

Patrick had many friends.  He loved being with them, playing and watching sports, cooking out, and fishing in the ocean and local lakes.  He had a special interest in animals of all kinds, including snakes, and was crazy about his dogs – Ike, Clara Belle and Nessie and his friends’ dogs—Rupp, Ace and Cash.

Patrick made his profession of faith on December 23, 1984 and was then baptized at Crievewood Baptist Church.  He liked to serve others and tried to follow his dad’s advice to help someone every day.

Patrick knew the Lord as his personal Savior.   We will miss him dearly, but we know he is in heaven with his Heavenly Father and he also has been reunited with his earthly father, Michael Sweeney, his grandparents and other loved ones who have gone before.
