Patrick "Ric" James Shields of Smyrna, Tennessee

December 21, 1950 - September 18, 2020

Patrick “Ric” James Shields, 69, went to be with our Lord on September 18, 2020. He was born on December 21, 1950 at Balboa Naval Base in San Diego California.

He was the son of Kathelyn Ellen “Sherri” Miller and Arthur Lewis Spencer, and adopted by Richard Shields.

He was in the Army Special Forces and educated at Sacramento State College and Chattanooga State Community College. He worked as a Restaurant Manager and District Manager for over 35 years. He then worked for HVAC for over 18 years and owned his own business in heating and cooling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Karen Gail Stevens, and sister Erin Margaret Edgar. He was survived by his brother, Corwin William Miller, his loving wife of 32 years, Barbara Shields, his five children Shannon, Christina, Kadi, Kelene, Spencer, and his 7 grandchildren. He used the Lord as his strength to carry on through the days and shared his hope, love, grace, and laughter with everyone he encountered. He would give anyone a helping hand and he made it a priority to tell his loved ones how much they meant to him.

Visitation is at 1:30pm at Madison Funeral Home followed by Funeral Service at 3:00pm on 10/3/2020.
