Otto Sorg of Franklin, Tennessee

April 22, 1944 - December 7, 2019

Otto Sorg, age 75 of Franklin, TN, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019
after a long illness. Otto was born in Austria, and came to this country at the
age of 8 years. He resided for 45 years in Pottstown, PA., 18 years in Dexter, MI.
then became a Tennessean for the last 8 years.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Sorg and step- father,
William Sorg of Pottstown, PA. Survived by his wife Linda Haney Sorg, two sons,
Steven Matthew Sorg (Jan) of Franklin, TN, Matthew John Reigner (Diana) of
Mount Joy. PA, and Kelli Ann Sorg of Reading, PA. Otto is also survived by his
step-children; Mark J. McKillen and Kathryn M. McAllister (Bryce), both of
Dexter, MI., and Jason M. McKillen of Charlotte, NC. The light of Ottos’ life were
his two grandsons, Daniel & Nicholas Reigner of Mount Joy, PA. He is also
survived by two step-grandchildren, Mason McAllister and Kayce McAllister of
Dexter, MI. Otto is survived by a brother, Bertram Sorg (Patricia) and their five
children and 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild as well as several uncles
and cousins in PA, TX and MS.


The military called Otto and he served in the 82 nd Airborne of the Army. He had
a long career in Information Technology, first in Manufacturing and then
Healthcare. His retirement dream came true when he opened his glass and
lighting store, The Glass Touch at The Factory 8 years ago. While residing in
Dexter MI, he was a ski instructor with the Ford Thunderbird Ski Club. He also
taught in-line skating on week-ends. In his sixties he earned his pilot’s license,
and in 2007 won a Cessna 4 seater with a glass cockpit from Sporty’s Plane
Sweepstakes. He became a member of the AOPA that year.


A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers please consider
