Mary Lou White Carmon, of Nashville, TN, formerly of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully Friday, August 20, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
She was born June 5, 1941 in Parrotsville, TN and lived most of her life in Knoxville, TN. She is the daughter of the late Samuel H. and Lura Cogdill White. She was a 1959 graduate of Fulton High School in Knoxville, TN and a graduate of Knoxville Business College. Mary Lou was a stay-at-home mother for a number of years where she was active in PTA, Cub Scouts, and other community projects – she loved serving her family and others. Mary Lou returned to work as an Apartment Manager at a senior living facility and then worked in medical billing until her retirement. She moved to Nashville in 2016, living at Villa Maria Manor, and serving as an Elder Companion at Mary Queen of Angels.
While in Knoxville, she was a member of Washington Pike Methodist Church and Central Baptist Fountain City, and a member of West Meade Fellowship upon moving to Nashville.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Craig and Gaye Carmon, Nashville, and Jeff and Zetta Carmon, Owensboro, KY, three grandchildren; Samuel, Hayden, and Emma Carmon, nephews Andy and Brian White, and many great friends she made throughout her life.
A Gathering of Friends will be held in Knoxville from 2-4 pm on Saturday, September 11 in the Chapel at Central Baptist Church in Fountain City and in Nashville from 2-4 pm on Friday, September 10 at West Meade Fellowship in Bellevue.
