Mary Katherine Chest of Nashville, Tennessee

January 2, 1929 - October 17, 2021

Mary Katherine Chest, born January 2, 1929. One of seven brothers and sisters of the Gregory family
of Russell Street in East Nashville. Affectionately know as “Motorboat” due to her unceasing positive
energy. An East High cheerleader, she married her school sweetheart, Russell Chest. Worked as a
secretary for the Methodist Publishing House, and later as a volunteer helper with the historic Tulip
Street Methodist Church. She passed on October 17, 2021 to join her beloved husband, and her six
brothers and sisters who’ve preceded her. Survived by her son, Rusty, and daughter-in-law, Jackie.
Woodlawn Cemetery is her resting place. An open minded, loving friend to all. Greatly missed, but not
forgotten, by those so fortunate as to know her.
