Martha B. Gillum, 84, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully August 20th,2020 at NHC Dickson with loved ones at her side.
She was born November 26th, 1935 in Cookeville, Tennessee to Dorothy and Floyd Bouton. The youngest of 8 children, she graduated from Cookeville Central High School in 1954. Working briefly at the local paper before moving to Nashville, Tennessee, she married in 1962, the late, James E. Gillum. They moved to Brentwood, Tennessee in 1965, where she resided for the next 47 years before moving back to Nashville. She is survived by two children: Jamie Gillum , of Spring Hill, Tennessee; and Libba Miller, of Nashville, Tennessee. She is also survived by two grandchildren.
She worked for over 30 years at the late Baird-Ward Printing Company later known as Arcata Graphics of Nashville, Tennessee.
Fondly known as Aunt Mot by much of her extended family, she had a personality that can not to be forgotten. She loved feeding people and was a great cook in her day. Kind and generous to all, she never knew a stranger and loved people and animals.
