Lily Chan-Gerrard was born on December 30, 1950 in Manila, Philippines. She passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on October 29, 2022 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. Lily is survived by her two children - Dr. Yvonne Araujo and Arles Von Araujo married to Mercy. She has four grandchildren - Marco, Greg, Isabelle, and Victoria.
She was lovingly known as Lola Lily to her grandchildren. She also owned a daycare center in Claremont, California from 1998-2002. After moving to Nashville, she started her in-home day care center for infants and toddlers up from 2006-2016. She wanted to have a place for her twin granddaughters to learn and grow with other children during their pre-school years. This was the start of Lola Lily’s Day Care center. She dedicated her life and provided a wonderful, safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all the children that went through her daycare.
To her many dear friends, Lily Chan was generous, funny, smart, and always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a leader, organizer, and considered the life of every class reunion or party. Being raised by St. Anthony’s Orphanage convent sisters, she has a very soft spot for orphans and people who are homeless or distressed.
She wanted to celebrate her memorial services with her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1646 Sunset Road, Brentwood, TN 37027 on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. The family will celebrate her life with a table of remembrance and life memories for viewing. Her interment will be held privately with the family on November 21, 2022 at Holy Family Church in Brentwood, TN. The family sincerely appreciated all the thought and prayers offered during this time of loss.
