Lelia Frances Anderson

July 4, 1925 - October 17, 2017

Peggy Anderson, 92, passed on Oct. 17, 2017 in Franklin TN. She was born in Harvey, IL, a suburb of Chicago, on July 4, 1925. Preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Farris S. (Andy) Anderson and her parents, J. D. and Annie L.(Denson) Young. Loving mother to four children, John D. Anderson of Cowan, TN, Susan K. Anderson Tallent of Dayton, TN, Michael S. Anderson of Titusville, FL and William B. Anderson of Franklin, TN. Peggy had 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She graduated from the former Central High School in Winchester, TN in 1943. After getting married in 1945 and starting a family, she graduated from Baroness Erlanger Hospital School of Nursing in Chattanooga, TN in 1951. She worked as a Registered Nurse in numerous hospitals and Doctors offices as the family moved around the country and overseas while her husband pursued his military career as an officer in the U.S Army. She was an avid golfer and a member of Lakewood Golf and Country Club in Tullahoma, TN. She also enjoyed crocheting, stamp collecting, bingo, card games and genealogy. She was a member of the Franklin County Historical Society and a volunteer with the Franklin County Project Preservation "The Dig" for 22 years.
Private services will be held at Green Cemetery in Winchester, TN.
