Joyce Hurley Smith

August 6, 1951 - June 14, 2016

In the early morning of June 14, 2016, Joyce Hurley Smith passed from this earthly life into the arms of Jesus at Alive Hospice Skyline Madison Campus in Madison, Tennessee as a result of a 14-month battle of cancer at the age of 64. She was born on August 6, 1951 in Neptune, New Jersey. She was the only daughter of four siblings to Willard and Elizabeth Hurley. She is survived by Fred Terry Smith, Sr. whom she shared 24 years of marriage, 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. They are: children - Tina Jackson (Stacy), Fred T. Smith, Jr., Leslie Washburn (Jon), Heather Johnson, and Christopher Smith, Sr.; grandchildren - Tyler Jackson (Paige), Brittany Laird-Smith, Nancy Luther, Elijah & Malina Johnson, Christopher Smith, Jr., Isaac Jackson, Dominick & Emma Washburn; great-grandchild - Carolina Gresham. Joyce was loving and kind. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service is being held on Saturday, June 18th at 4:30PM at Smyrna Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alive Hospice or Nazarene Compassionate Ministries.
