John Peter Lindberg, Age 63 of Crumpler, NC, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018. He was born in Chicago, IL on November 22, 1954. He is father to sons, Thomas J. Nicholson and Michael C. Nicholson of Nashville, TN, John Robert Lindberg and daughter Danielle Lindberg Sweeney of Smyrna, TN; grandchildren Phoenix Jason Thomas Nicholson and Archer John Xavier Nicholson of Brooklyn, NY, Mary Jane Lindberg, Triston Lindberg, Jayden Lindberg, Levi Scott Sweeney of Smyrna, TN. Beloved son of the late Charles J. Lindberg and the late Myrl Laura Hampton Lindberg; nephew of Charlene Sobzak Lindberg of Chicago, IL and Raymond Patrick Connelly Lindberg of Florida; devoted brother of the late Delores Dee (Jerry) Welch,Jerry Welch, the late Frances (Donald) Almas, Dorothy (Vasilios) Papachristos, the late VasiliosPapachristos, Charles E. Lindberg, Tracy Allen (Nikki) Lindberg, of the late Robert Brian Lindberg and Susan Michelle (Frank) Panayl;loving uncle to Andrew (Christen) Papachristos, Pam () de la Cruz Jerry Welch, Jr. (Cara); Jason (Della) Lindberg; Kristen (Billy); Kelly ( Brian); A graduate of Roger C. Sullivan High School Class of '73 where he studied Art Major, Chicago, IL; A route driver for 7Up Bottling Co. Chicago, IL He moved to Nashville, then to Smyrma, TN, as a long-distance driver for YRC (Yellow Roadway) Trucking Co.in Smyrna, TN and became an instructor of new trainees; He retired after 23 years and was with The Teamsters Local 480; was a Union Steward; he won The Truckers Rodeo Twice. John loved life; had a great smile, a heart of gold; a very deep love for his big Catholic family and to his many dear friends. A life lost way too soon. He will be truly missed by so many. There will be "A Celebration of this Life," on Saturday, February, 10th, at 12 o'clock Noon at The Sliderhouse, 1907 Division St. Nashville, TN 37203 Donations are greatly appreciated on his GoFundMe account for hospital expenses, funeral costs & funds for outstanding bills. His remains are being held at Alternative Cremation and Funeral Service in Franklin, TN until they are taken to Chicago, IL for a Memorial Service & then with his wishes to be spread across the roadways that he traveled during his career at YRC.
