Preceded in death by parents Joseph Towler McClellan, Jr and Margaret Little McClellan and by wife of 25 years, Patsy Patterson McClellan. Survived by children: Joe M. “Chip” McClellan, Jr (Alice), Kenneth Compton McClellan (Cindy) and Mildred “Milli” Alicia McClellan, and three step-children, Jay Inman (Kelly), Pam Foster (Lyn), and Jill Rogers (Joe). Four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Mr. McClellan was active in scouting troop 38 at Dan Mills School and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a graduate of Issac Litton High School, Tennessee Tech and attended the Harris School of Advertising Art. He served in the U.S. Army in France and was a Captain at time of honorable discharge.
He worked as Art Director for advertising agencies in Texas and Nashville and had his own art business for several years.
Mr. McClellan was a ranked tennis player in Nashville and the State and was a volunteer at the Harpeth Hills Golf Course for many years.
