Jeffery Allen Johnson, age 42, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly at his home February 14, 2021. Jeff is survived by his brother, Bart (Lisa) Hall of Knoxville, Tennessee and his sister, Laura (Jeff) Ivie of Cave City, Kentucky, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Louis Miller Johnson, and his mother, Harriet Hudson Johnson.

Jeff was born September 20th, 1978, in Memphis, Tennessee. Growing up, Jeff was very energetic and engaged in many sports, particularly favoring baseball. From a young age, he had a genuine love for horses and began training, riding, and competing in horse shows. Jeff’s attention quickly shifted once he was introduced to music. He began taking guitar and piano lesions and soon discovered his natural talent and good ear for music.

Jeff was a 1996 of graduate of Gallatin High School. As a member of the Gallatin’s Performers Band, this young guitarist sharpened his skill. Jeff’s dedication and inspiration for music led him to attend Nashville’s prestigious Belmont University as a member of the School of Music. There he majored in Commercial Music Guitar Performance and was a member of the country music ensemble, Southbound.

Jeff’s versatile guitar abilities and good-natured disposition made him a highly sought-after accompanist for recitals and showcases. His passion as a professional guitarist continued throughout his adult life capturing the attention of several Nashville recording artist and songwriters. His skills as both a lead and rhythm guitarist led him to several nationwide tours, perhaps most notably for recording artist Darryl Worley.

Some of Jeff’s proudest accomplishments include his multiple performances on the Grand Ole Opry and playing several USO tours for the men and women of the United States military. Most recently, in addition to his music career, Jeff was a health and fitness personal trainer and aspiring bodybuilder. Jeff will always be remembered for his kind smile, incredible quick wit, and guitar mastery.

Jeff’s final resting place is Lakes at the Crestview located at Crestview Memory Gardens 1623 Highway 109 North Gallatin, TN 37066.
