James Nicks Brabson, 47, passed away on July 23, 2021. He was born January 18, 1974, to Sara Daniel Brabson, deceased, and Franklin D. Brabson, Attorney, in Nashville, TN. He is survived by his older brothers, Daniel Brabson and wife Ellie, and Craig Brabson and wife Jenny. He attended Eakin Elementary, University School of Nashville, Hillsboro High School and the University of Tennessee. He was known for his quick wit and sharp humor. He was also a very talented creative, from the visual arts to the culinary arts. He had a very deep passion for all types of music, and his friends appreciated sharing his great taste in music. Like his dad and brothers, he was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. He is remembered by his godparents, Stewart and Jan Bushing, and his Natchez Trace neighbors, Scott Bushing (Sarah), Emily Bushing Woods (David), David and Brian Pfister, and other dear family friends. Services will be held at Bellevue United Methodist Church, 7501 Old Harding Pike on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-11. Interment to follow at Dickson County Memorial Gardens, US-70, Dickson, TN, at 1:30 PM, where his cremains will be laid to rest next to his beloved mother, Sara, and his maternal grandparents, William and Pauline Daniel. In lieu of flowers, James would want you to find a kid that needs a skateboard and give them one. You can also donate to the James Brabson Memorial Fund at Maple Built ( www.maplebuilt.com ), who will provide skateboards to Nashville kids in underserved communities. For COVID-19 precautions, masks will be required and vaccinations are strongly encouraged.
