Irma McCoy Shepherd, of Franklin, Tennessee, went to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 6, 2023, after a heroic battle with breast cancer. Irma was born on August 2, 1959 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Left behind to cherish her beautiful memory is her husband, John “Paul” Shepherd, to whom she was married for 24 years and Paul’s sons, Kevan, JD, and Tim Shepherd, and step-granddaughters, Hannah Barker (Matthew) and Riley Shepherd.

Irma was dearly loved by her three sisters, Deborah McCoy, Kristeen McCoy Bauer (Bob) and Julie McCoy Boudreaux along with her step-brother, Robert A. Young, Jr. (Pat). Irma had five amazing nieces and nephews who adored her: Preston McCoy, Roger Bauer (Tara), April Vincent (Andrew), Lauren Brocksmith (Dustin), and Katie Boudreaux, adorable great-nieces and great-nephews as well as many life-long and dear friends.

Irma received a B.A. degree in Sociology from Southeastern Louisiana University and worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years.

Irma is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Rogers McCoy and Georgette McCoy Young and her step-dad, Robert A. Young, Sr. of Metairie, Louisiana

Family and friends are cordially invited to a gathering to commemorate her beautiful life at either The Bridge Golf Clubhouse, in Franklin, Tennessee on Thursday, March 16th from 8:30 - 10:30 AM or at Celebration Church Gathering Area in Metairie, Louisiana on Saturday, March 25th from 10:00 am- 12:00 noon . Interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to GraceWorks of Tennessee would be appreciated.
