Hong Wang was born to the late Changxin Wang and Guiying Cui, in Shenyang China in 1948. She worked as an accountant most of her life. The center of her life has always been her family and she is survived by her husband of 48yrs, Hongjiang Ma, and her only daughter Yanjun Ma.
She had a wonderful idyllic childhood, which was abruptly interrupted by the Culture Revolution in China. She was separated from her family, thrown into an unknown world of hard labor, starvation, physical illness, and emotional despair. A lot of her life long illnesses were the result of this harsh time she spent in rural China in her late teens. But she had a fierce spirit and triumphed through this extraordinarily tough time. She was eventually reunited with her family years later and then started her own family.
Her toughness led her through many more difficult times through her life and eventually built a comfortable and prosperous home for her family. She never gave up no matter how hard it was. She was a wonderful cook and was famous among the family and acquaintances for her exquisite dishes at the dinner table. She loved poetry, novels and fashion. She loved shopping and travel.
