Helen Marie Strine of Hendersonville, Tennessee

August 13, 1929 - April 19, 2022

Helen Marie Strine, a longtime resident of Hendersonville, went home to her Lord & Savior on April 19, 2022.  Helen was born August 13, 1929 in Ranger, NC to Harley & Bonnie Embree.  As a young woman, she was a singer and a dancer. Living in Miami Beach during the 1950's, she met and married her husband of 22 years Arthur J. Strine. He preceded her in death.  Helen had  4 children, Teresa (Billy) Fowler, Randall (Linda) Coe, Robert (Rachelle) Masters, and Debra (Steve) Chisholm. One stepson, Arthur (Bud) Strine.  She had 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren with one on the way. What a wonderful and loving legacy she left! She was famous for worrying about every single one of them. She loved her family with all her heart. Helen was a stay-at-home mom for much of her life. Always running mom's taxi taking not just her kids, but the neighborhood kids to after school activities. She was always the favorite room mother. Later in life, she worked at Northern Telecom as a quality control supervisor. After leaving there, she went to what was her favorite job of working as a cashier at the Opryland gift shops. She loved meeting new people and never met a stranger. She loved to talk to people wherever she went and made friends easily with her sincere smile and way of putting people at ease. Helen was also an animal lover. She was the original dog whisperer. She could talk to animals and understand them as though they were speaking back to her. It was an amazing gift that was just part of who she was. She was our mom, grandmother and friend to all. She was the maker of the deviled eggs at all family gatherings and we will all miss her terribly. We take comfort in knowing that she accepted Jesus as her personal savior and is seeing things she never dreamed possible because of that decision. We will  have a celebration of her life on Mother's Day May 8, 2022 at Sanders Ferry Park from 1-5 pm.  Pavilion 6. In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation in her honor to the Sumner County Humane Society in Hendersonville.
