Harry Watts Moodie, 85, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on November 23,
2024, with his daughters by his side.

Harry was born on December 11, 1938, to Frank Boyce Moodie, Jr. and Kathryn
Marie Watts Moodie in Evansville, Indiana. He spent his childhood in Salem,
Kentucky where his father was in the fluorspar mining business.
Harry attended McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee for high school where
he was awarded the highest honor, The Grayson Medal, which is given to
the senior who has shown the highest level of leadership and achievement during
his time at the school. He was also a standout shortstop who went on to play
baseball at Vanderbilt University. During the summers, Harry sold books door to
door for Southwestern Book Company becoming a sales manager after graduating
from Vanderbilt. He met some of his greatest friends during this time. In 1969,
Harry and Spencer Hays, teamed up with Jerry McCoin to start Athlon Sports
Publications, in Nashville, where Harry remained until retiring in 2003. During
this time. Harry spent a great deal of time commuting from Nashville to New York
City which became the family’s favorite vacation spot.

In 1969, Harry married the love of his life, Ann Stephenson. Harry and Ann went
on to have 2 daughters, Julie and Kate. Harry adored his wife, Ann, who passed in
February of this year. They were the perfect couple who enjoyed entertaining,
traveling, and spending time with family. Known for his humor and big
personality, Harry was always the life of the party and was loved by everyone who
knew him. He also loved supporting his wife Ann's passion for local charities and
never missed one of her fabulous meals.

Post retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing, mentoring and writing music. In
2009, Harry started a record company called Okey Dokey Records where he
published a children's CD entitled "I Can Do Anything" alongside fellow friend
and songwriter Pat Patrick.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Frank Boyce Moodie III
and wife, Ann Stephenson Moodie. He is survived by his daughters, Julie
(Keith) Covington, Kate (Tom) Sullivan, and grandchildren Haley and Elsie
Covington and Huck and Savannah Sullivan.

A celebration of life is being planned for January 18, 2025.
