George MILTON Groover of Nolensville, Williamson Co., Tennessee passed away on Sunday morning, June 18, 2017, at home while being attended by loving family members, after a hard fought battle with liver cancer. He was born to the late Albert Parks and Mary Kathleen (Long) Groover in Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina on October 9, 1950. The family moved to the Atlanta, Fulton Co., Georgia area where he was raised and later in life Milton moved to Tennessee supporting his family working as a talented carpenter, painter and jack of all trades.
Milton's favorite pastimes were watching sports on TV, shooting pool, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his granddaughter, Skyla. He quite often wore a mischievous grin on his face and usually had a special name for most of his family and friends. He loved nothing better than ribbing those that he loved.
He is survived in this life by his beloved wife Sharon DIANE (Mitchell) Coppock Groover, his daughter, Lisa Allison Olson of Flowery Branch, Hall Co., GA; his daughters, Lindsay Michele Coppock with partner Kayla Head, of McKinney, Collin Co., TX and Caitlin Page Coppock of Nolensville, Williamson Co., TN; grandson Blake Davis of Atlanta, Fulton Co., GA, granddaughter, Skyla Mackinzie Coppock of Tazwell, Claiborne Co., TN; sister, Patricia Margaret (Groover) Young and spouse William Young of Port Orange, Volusia Co., FL, brother Ronald Lee Groover and spouse, Carol B. Groover of Locust Grove, Henry Co., GA and sister, Deborah Ann Groover of Port Orange, Volusia Co, FL, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Rodney Milton Groover, of Moreland, Coweta County, GA; step-son Joshua Glane Pewitt of Smyrna , Rutherford County, TN and Gracie Elizabeth Coppock of Tazwell, Claiborne Co., TN.
Per Milton's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no service held in his memory.
