Gary Ronald Reasons of Thompson's Station, Tennessee

Gary Ronald Reasons of Franklin, TN went to be with the Lord on Sunday December 29, 2019 at the age of 79.

He was born on October 1, 1940 in Eldorado, IL. He graduated from Eldorado High School in 1958 and married his high school sweetheart, Diane. He attended Southern Illinois University and studied mechanical engineering. In 1967, he took a job as a draftsman with McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis. He was a born salesman and entrepreneur at heart. He sold a variety of things throughout his career but his favorite part of sales was building relationships. Two years later in 1969, he and Diane started their own Amway business. He moved the family to Brentwood, Tennessee in 1974 and continued motivational speaking, mentoring, and growing their business until he retired.

He was obsessed with sweets and black leather satchels, and hoarded electronics. He was always looking for the next money-making business idea. Gary was a great leader, outgoing, charming and compassionate. He was hard-working and generous with his time and money. We never doubted his love for us. Even in his waning months he was sharing the love of Jesus with those who would listen. As much as he wanted to be with Jesus in recent years, he had a strong will and determination to make sure he had nothing else to do for the Lord right up until the end of his journey here on earth. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his sister Janet James and parents Ralph and Phyllis Reasons of Eldorado, IL. He is survived by his former wife of 38 years, Diane Reasons and their four children. Gary is remembered with love by his daughter Cheri and her husband Chuck Howell, granddaughter Samantha and great-grandson Kile; his daughter Karen and her husband David Boggs, grandson Justin and his wife Meredith, grandson Ryan and his wife Cassie, granddaughter Jessica and her husband Robert, granddaughter Annie and grandsons Kofi and King; his daughter Nicki and her husband Chris Yorke, granddaughter Abby and grandsons Colin and Cortez; his son Mike and his wife Courtney Reasons, grandson Ford and granddaughter Annabelle; his nephew Greg James and his wife Sherry.

Tremendous heartfelt thanks to the truly compassionate and exceptional nurses and staff at NHC Healthcare Franklin, to hospice nurses at Caris and to the entire staff at Brookdale Senior Living in Franklin,Tennessee.

A celebration of life service will be held at Harpeth Christian Church at 1101 Gardner Dr. Franklin, TN 37064 on Friday, Jan 3, 2019 at 1pm. A visitation will be held 12:00pm-1:00pm.
