Frederick (Rick) W. Jewell passed away at his home in Franklin on Sunday, November 5, 2017. He was born April 20, 1957 in Nashville to John William and the late Mary Anna (Locke) Jewell. Rick's childhood education took place in various countries abroad, and he graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy. He delighted in sharing memories of his overseas adventures.
Rick worked most of his life in the construction industry as a project manager, estimator, and heavy equipment operator. Colleagues describe him as bright, hard-working, and joyful, with an incredible memory for people and places.
Rick is survived by his loving wife Becky Parker-Jewell of 19 years, stepsons Taylor (Tiffany) and Seth Parker, grandchildren (Ryley and Kensley Parker), father John (Nancy) Jewell, brothers Bill (Mary Jean) and Roger Jewell, and several nieces and nephews.
Rick loved Dachshunds from an early age and nurtured many pets over the years. He was an avid sports fan of NASCAR, UTK, and Titans football.
A private celebration of life will take place in the future.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rick Jewell Memorial & Expense Fund: www.gofundme.com/rick-jewell-memorial-expense-fund. This fundraiser is a celebration of Rick's life and to help Becky with medical, funeral and other incurred bills, to get her through these tough times. Thanks in advance for your generous donations.
