Emma Jean West

March 24, 1923 - December 22, 2017

Emma "Jean" West known as "Big Mama" by her family, gained her angel wings on the evening of December 22, 2017, surrounded by her loving family when she was welcomed home into the loving arms of our most Heavenly Father!
Jean was born March 24, 1923 in Clay County, Tennessee to parents Austin Elmer and Mary Etta Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 47 years J.C. West, son Richard West, son Bill West, grandson Will West, brother Bill Brown, and sister Ann Hurt.
Jean is survived by her son Roger (Cathy) West, daughter Kathy (Jerry) Shehane, grandmother of 12, great-grandmother of 19, and great-great-grandmother of 7.
Jean was a long-time employee of Washington Manufacturing Corporation located on 2nd Avenue of Nashville, TN. Jean was a member of the Laguardo Church of Christ. Jean was an accomplished seamstress who loved to sew and loved country music.
A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to HighPoint Hospice in Gallatin, TN.
