David Michael Hayes, 67, passed away in Nashville, TN on April 19
th
, 2021 after a battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his wife Penny Hayes. He is survived by children Buffy Nevil, husband Brian Nevil, and Bradley Hayes; step-children Matt Youngblood, wife Madison Youngblood, and Rachel Youngblood; grandchildren, Paige Nevil, Brice Nevil, Braden Nevil, Skyla Hows, Seanna Hayes, Syrra Hayes, and Phoenix, Finlee, and Marlee Youngblood; great-grandchild, Rosalyn Keen, and sisters Deborah Wallace, Donna Moulder, and Diane Lopata.
David was born to parents, Herman and Barbara Hayes, on July 5
th
1953 in Nashville, TN. He graduated Hendersonville High School in 1971. He loved sports and for much of his life played in numerous softball leagues. He was known to his team mates as “Tater”. He later became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in senior care for more than twenty years. As a nurse he was known for being hard working, meticulous, and compassionate.
David was also a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grand kids and having big family cookouts. He spent the last years of his life married to his beloved wife Penny, whom he adored. Penny passed away one week before him. A celebration of life for David Hayes will be held at later date.
