Danny Hunley of Nashville, Tennessee

December 14, 1950 - October 27, 2020

Daniel (Danny) Gerard Hunley, 69, of the Scottsboro Community, passed away Oct. 27, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Danny was a retired metro fireman of 33 years.  He served in the marine reserves in 1971. He played football for Austin Peay State University after graduating from Cumberland High School where he met his loving wife Kathy. He enjoyed the outdoors, carpentry work, sports and exercising at the Green Hills YMCA with his early morning group of friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Kathy Collier Hunley; sisters, Rosemary deGraauw and Cecelia Marchesi; son, Lewis Hunley (Ralph Vogt); daughter, Lisa Beathard (Brian Beathard); granddaughter, Ava Beathard; grandson, Payce Beathard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Hunley and Vivian Marie Hunley; his brothers, Lawrence Hunley, Paul Hunley; and sisters, Ann Bledsoe and Helen Glaser Yates.

The family plans to have a private memorial service with only immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be sent to Alive Hospice or the Scottsboro United Methodist Church.
