Dr. Charles Ray Sidberry, 69, passed away on September 17, 2022, at his home as a result of natural causes. Charles was born in New Bern, North Carolina on August 17th, 1953. He was the son of Carletha and William H. Sidberry.
He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated at Howard University. He continued his education and earned his medical degree at Meharry Medical College. Charles also proudly served as a Lt. Commander in the US Navy. He took pride in providing quality medical care to the Nashville community for 39 years. He enjoyed a successful career in private, corporate, and correctional medicine where he was a favorite amongst his various patient populations.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Teri Sidberry; his daughters, Kris Sidberry, Carley Sidberry; step-son, Dylan Parker (Lynsey); mother, Carletha Sidberry; siblings, William Sidberry, Pamela Sidberry Turner, Darrick Sidberry, and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father; William H Sidberry.
He was a beloved and active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Franklin, TN. He had a deep love for music, theatre, and movies. Charles was a walking database for classic movies, television, and all things superheroes especially Marvel, Superman, and Andy Griffith. He also was an avid sports fan and loved college football and basketball. Most of all, he was a big kid with a heart of gold and Disney was his favorite place on earth.
He was known for his acts of kindness, servant’s heart, warm hugs, and big smile. Charles was a gentle giant, a doting father, and loving husband. He was a dedicated physician especially to the underserved and disadvantaged communities. He was loved by everyone who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 24 th at 3:00pm. The visitation with the family will be from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in Otey Hall at St. Paul’s Church.
