Carolyn B. Fuller

August 10, 1943 - May 7, 2015

Carolyn B. Fuller, 71, passed away peacefully in Franklin, TN on May 7, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. Carolyn was a Nashville native and graduate of Hillsboro High School and George Peabody College for Teachers (Vanderbilt), where she earned both a BS and MS in Education. Her early career was spent in the teaching field, and she later transitioned into educational sales for a number of publishers. The last few years of her life were spent enjoying life as a retiree at North Carolina's Outer Banks. Some of her loves included entertaining family and friends, horses, cats, dogs, and a good glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lois Batey; and a sister, Darlene Hoffman. She is survived by her son, Terry Cooksey; daughter, Trish Barnard (Daren Swenson); grandchildren, Matt Cooksey (Sara), David Barnard, Lauren Cooksey; several nieces and nephews; and her rescue Sharpei, Ellie. The family wishes to thank Carolyn's nationwide network of family and friends for their visits, support, and assistance during Carolyn's illness. The family also wishes to thank the staffs of Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center, NHC Cool Springs, and Guardian Hospice. A private celebration of Carolyn's life will be conducted in the near future.
