Billie Barnett Bowman of Hermitage, Tennessee

December 23, 1955 - December 1, 2023

Our family is sad to announce the passing of Billie Barnett Bowman on Dec. 1, 2023 at Alive Hospice In Nashville, TN following a brief illness. Billie was born in Cumberland County, NC on Dec. 23, 1955. Billie grew up, in her early years, on the Lee Family Farm raised by her Uncle Nathan Lee and Aunt Opal Barnett Lee in McCrory, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by Uncle Nathan Lee, Aunt Opal Barnett Lee and nephew Michael Barnett.

Billie was a Hermitage TN resident and is survived by her husband Dunklin Bowman, as well as her brother Mike and wife Connie Barnett of High Point, NC., sister Linda Darlene Harrelson of Asheboro, NC, nephews Brad Barnett and wife Sherri of Sophia, NC,  Matt Harrelson of Asheboro, NC,  great nephew Bradley Barnett and wife Laurel of Concord, NC, Simone Bowman, her beloved dog and other family members.

Billie's true love was family and a life long devotion and love for animals. She frequently volunteered ministering, rescuing and transporting dogs to their new forever homes. She will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Billie's memory to be donated to any animal charity of choice.

Billie's family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the staff of Summit Hospital in Nashville, TN for their wonderful care as well as Alive Hospice staff for their compassionate care in her last days.
