Belinda Faye Whitten

March 15, 1955 - June 4, 2023

Belinda Faye Whitten, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home in Franklin, TN on June 4, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. She is now at peace with her Heavenly Father.

Belinda was born on March 15, 1955 in Cleveland, TN. She was a devoted mother to her three daughters, Stephanie Whitten Kerr (Brad), Hilliary Whitten Green (Josh), and Savannah Whitten Hoehn (Trammel) all residents of Franklin, TN. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, Maddie and Jake Kerr; Emma, Charley, Anabelle, and Memphis Green; and Elsie, Evie Grace and Ruthie Hoehn. Belinda was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Mildred Delashmitt of Cleveland, TN. Belinda was loved by many dear friends, extended family and colleagues around the country. Belinda and her life-long and childhood best friend, Pam Wilson (Harry), shared many adventures and good times throughout their lives even with a final beach trip weeks before her passing. Belinda will be missed deeply by all those who loved her.

Belinda was an accomplished professional. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications and spent her career serving non-profit organizations. She was employed by the American Heart Association for the past 16 years and most recently served as the Executive Director of Greater Alabama. Her contributions to the organizations she cared deeply about are immeasurable.

Belinda’s passion was her family as she built her life around them. She enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s events and planning fun and exciting family trips and celebrations. She loved the beach and spending as much time as possible at her beach home in Navarre Beach, Florida. She was an avid equestrian, riding and training horses from the time she was a young child. As a young adult, she published a book about horses and has continued to love horses throughout her lifetime.

A casual open house type celebration of life will be held at the Cottonwood Clubhouse in Franklin, TN on Sunday, June 11th. Friends, family and colleagues are invited to stop by anytime between 2:00 – 5:00 PM to visit with family. A private burial service for immediate family will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association in Belinda’s name would be appreciated.
